Right before I started typing this post – just a few moments before – I felt an urge to sit down at the piano and play and sing. The song of choice? You Really Got a Hold on Me (She + Him, The Beatles, and Smokey Robinson all have fantastic versions of this).
Singing and playing piano is an amazing creative outlet for me. It generates so much of the work I do on this blog. It has seasons of active pursuit and active rest. It’s always there for me. And because I’m very connected to my creative energy and I can sense where it wants to go and how it wants to express itself, I feel really fulfilled creatively. It’s that simple.
So, why does creativity trip us up?
Why does creativity make us feel stonewalled – like we’re not unique enough, like we flat out aren’t creative, or that we have “too many” creative passions to even focus and act on?
Well, creativity doesnt make us feel that way. We allow our ego to make us feel that way.
BUT, NO MORE!
I hope today’s vlog can make you feel more confident in your unique creative capacities and I hope it can inspire you get out there and just … experiment. You ARE creative and you deserve to creative just for the sake of creating. Just because. Now, let’s chat…
All my love,
