8 Second Meditation to Stop Judging Yourself

OOPS.

When I started editing the spotlight annotations (the video suggestions + the meditation guide opt-in you see at the very end of the video) for today’s vlog, it dawned on me…

This week’s vlog is kind of a total repeat of last week’s vlog. Different title and still incredibly valuable, but basically the same thing.

I’m not gonna lie; when I realized that, my initial reaction was fear. My tummy dropped a bit and, instantly, I heard my ego react. Here’s what said ego sounded like: self-judgment. It spewed self-attack thoughts to the tune of, “Are you stupid? Everyone’s going to think you’re such an air head” and “They’re going to think you’re lazy” and “They’re going to think this video is a total waste of time and stop following your work.”

All lies? Yes. All totally insane? Yes. (Also, funny. It’s kinda funny.) But nevertheless, this is what we experience. This is the ego in action. As A Course in Miracles calls it, “…suspicious at worst and vicious at best.” It’s cunning and it knows how to hit you right where it hurts.

As soon as I heard the judgments come in, I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and witnessed them.

And then, what I involuntarily did next was the exact 8-second meditation that I’m sharing with you (again) today.

I heard the Holy Spirit say, “They need it again – just like you.”

Synchronicity at its finest, my friends.

I could have freaked out about this. I could have let that voice take me down a silly dark road. And this example might sound trivial – but these are experiences that we ignore and allow to pile up. But the good news is tools just like this one can take us out of our head and back into our soul – IN 8 SECONDS!

I hope it serves you just as much as it did me yesterday morning.

All my love,
Heather
