Sacred Anger: A Practical Framework for Understanding & Processing Anger

Do you judge yourself as “unspiritual” when you feel angry?

Do you struggle with understanding and processing anger?

Do you ever feel guilty when you feel angry?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this blog post is for you.

A Little Background
Something I never expected to become so passionate about is teaching my clients about the sacred intel that anger can provide. Almost every single one of my kind-hearted, soul-centered, ambitious clients reach a point in our work together in which they feel inwardly called to (or the Universe presents them with an opportunity to) reclaim their power around anger.

It’s not your fault. You weren’t taught…and your caregivers weren’t taught…and their caregivers weren’t taught about how to understand, process, and regulate yourself in “high intensity” emotional states like anger.

…until now. 😉

I want to share with you what I’ve learned from my own personal experience and devotion to my spiritual path alongside the wisdom of incredible guides in my life (I’m lookin’ at you, Betsy Banks!) who have helped me reclaim my power around anger.

What is Anger?
Anger is not wrong or bad.

Anger is a healthy internal response to life—it’s how you conceptualize and what you do with that healthy internal response that matters most.

Anger is your internal alarm system, alerting you to one or more of these...

  1. It’s possible you’re in a season of moving into your power on a deeper level, and anger is representing that seed of power awakening within you. This can manifest as a defiant “NO MORE!” or “I’M DONE WITH THIS!” kind of feeling.

  2. Something is happening in your life or relationships that is not okay with you.

  3. Anger is alerting you to the awareness that a boundary of yours has been crossed or violated.

  4. You are aware of the presence of lies (you’re lying to yourself, someone else is lying to you, or both).

Use this framework as your compass when you feel anger and it can help you navigate intense situations with awareness, clarity, and from an intuitive, soul-led place.

From this day on, may you feel even more empowered each and every time you experience anger. May you effortlessly remember this framework; and may it become your compass.

With care,
Heather
